MEET THE LAVENDER GIRL...

This Sunday I will tell you a bit about how my designs come to life.  It is important for me to write down, because I am curious how my methods change during the next years.

Though I had bought a cross stitch designing software I still use methods from the stone age. Papers, pencils and brushes.  All my cross stitch pattern exist in some kind of other art form.  Sometimes I like the painted version more, sometimes I found the stitched, simplified item more comforting.  I have a huge pile of printed grid papers I use.   I turn to the software only in the last run, when I am making the "official" pattern.

The first stage is with pencil.

IN HUNGARIAN:  A mai vasárnapon mesélek egy kicsit arról, hogyan születnek a mintáim.

Mindegyik keresztszemes mintám létezik valamilyen más formában is.  Néha festmény formában tetszik jobban, néha a letisztult, kihímzett verziót találom kellemesebbnek.

After it I paint the sketch.   I put the stitched piece there, so you can see the difference.  Of course the stitching is very-very simple as I designed for a tiny surface.

Let me introduce you the Lavender Girl. Bare foot, just as I am in the summer in our garden.   She is a bit shy.

IN HUNGARIAN: Ezt követően megfestem a képet.  A hímzett verziót rátettem, hogy jobban lássátok a különbséget.  Természetesen a hímzés most nagyon-nagyon leegyszerűsített, hiszen egy falatnyi felszínre készült a minta.

Happy Stitching!:-) xx
