The Snowflower Diaries

The pattern of the barefoot Summer Witch is now available, you are welcome to download it if you wish from here ! Before sending me to the Faculty of Tiny Ornaments and Small Designs, I tell you I am working on my first bigger sampler that I designed lately.  I hope I can publish it this autumn or winter.... we will see:-) Meanwhile I met a fellow stitcher, a very nice Hungarian lady from France, Judit and we visited the Sugarshop in Budapest with some of our children, look at these sweets and colours, mmmmm, we ate 'somlói galuska' and icecreams in blue cups, it was so much fun! Dear Friends and Visitors, You deserve a new pattern, are you not?:-)  The blog is 2 months old and summer time is coming!  I have continued my 'witch series' and designed The Summer Witch with bare foot in lovely light blue dress. Blame it on The Primitive Hare, but since I had seen her gorgeus, latest Pride and Prejudice themed design, I am totally distracted from my own designs and keep watching Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy on dvd.  There had been years, when I was such a huge fan of the BBC adaptation with Colin Firth that I had watched it and read Jane Austen's wonderful book million times.   I can totally understand Bridget Jones if you ask me. I am very blessed, because I met and talked with Colin Firth when he was in Budapest some years ago.  He and his Italian wife were both such wonderful, opened, kind and normal, I respect him even more since that day.   So instead of stitching I painted some 10-minute quick portraits of him to practice.  I love the English Derwent watercolour pencils, one of the finest, high quality pencils on Earth. Please welcome my latest design, You Are So Loved. It is dedicated to the strongest and deepest love between human beings: the love between mother and child.    The model was stitched on 40 ct French Vanilla hand dyed Zweigart Linen by Nina with her threads (Coral, Artichoke, Iris, Caramel, Ginger, Espresso and Cigar).     It will be another free pattern if you would like to, I can upload the pattern in a couple days. To my dear Visitors, I wish you a happy and blessed Easter with this little card I had painted recently with watercolor art pencils. I wish I could send a copy with a handwritten message to each of you by post to all the countries you came, because you gave me so much support and love in the past three weeks since I have opened this blog.  I am very thankful. I have a big announcement. From the very beginning the majority of my visitors are from France, the least I can express my gratitude toward you is that from now on, the upcoming designs of The Snowflower Diaries will be available in three languages: English, French and Hungarian.   A nice lady will help me translating the patterns to French. I had joined a HALLOWEEN ORNAMENT SAL group this year where each month we have a different Halloween ornament theme (pumpkins, witches, black cats and bats etc) to stitch, a paradise for someone like me who loves Halloween and makes a pumpkin land out of her flower garden at home.    The March theme is haunted house and I came up with this design I share with you in this post. Now that I am ready, I think it would have qualified more to the ghost theme of May.   The poor haunted house is only a background decoration:-) The model was stitched on Nina 's Syringa Dark hand dyed Zweigart linen with her threads (Onyx, Pumpkin, Old Berry and White Sheep).  Please welcome some pictures of this very nice ghost lady with flowers in her hair.  I made a little pouch for my old white buttons... heritage from people who had once lived and loved and laughed.   You can download the pattern  here IN HUNGARIAN: ...
